Event Policies
1. Guest understands and agrees that Givens Farm LLC requires a signed contract and nonrefundable/nontransferable deposit of $200 for events and a 50% nonrefundable/nontransferable deposit for weddings. The deposit for a wedding is based on the proposal at the time of booking. Remaining balance due 30 days prior to event or wedding.
2. Guest understands the proposal offered does not include tax, gratuity or applicable taxes and fees. Additionally, adjustments to the overall timeline of Event will be reflected at the time of final invoice.
3. A final number of guests must be provided no later than 10 days prior to the date of the event or 30 days prior to date of wedding. If the actual number of guests on the day of the event or wedding is greater than the number provided, Givens Farm reserves the right to charge $15 per person for each guest over and above the confirmed number, plus any additional costs incurred for rental amenities, unless otherwise noted on the proposal.
4. Givens Farm gladly accepts cash, check, or credit card as form of payment. A 3.75% surcharge will be applied to all invoices for payment with a credit card.
5. Guest understands an additional hourly fee will apply if Guest arrives earlier or stays beyond agreed upon timeline. This will be charged to the credit card on file at the current hourly rate for Event plus applicable taxes and fees.
6. It is agreed the credit card on file will be kept active and current. If credit card on file expires or account is closed, another one will be provided no later than 30 days prior to Event.
7. Only preapproved, natural elements may be used to decorate. We do not allow silk flower petals, confetti, glitter or other hard to clean up décor.
8. Employees of Givens Farm will provide setup and cleanup of the facility. This does not include any decorating or setup/takedown of rentals. Excess cleanup will be charged at the sole discretion of Mariann Sykes.
9. Guest shall be liable for loss of property or damage which may be caused by Guest, family member or other invited persons.
10. Givens Farm is not responsible for lost or stolen items, or other circumstances beyond our control.
11. In the event of cancellation due to weather, Guest will be given an opportunity to reserve Givens Farm on the next available date. This primarily relates to workshops sponsored by Givens Farm.
12. Refunds or cancellations due to extenuating circumstances will be considered on an individual basis and are made at the sole discretion of Mariann Sykes.
13. If Givens Farm is coordinating the food for your event or you are attending a workshop, please provide dietary requirements at least 10 days prior to the date of the event.
14. If Givens Farm is not coordinating the catering for your Event, Guest agrees to use a caterer from the Givens Farm Event Professional Preferred Partner list. If a caterer from this list is not used, preapproval is required.
15. As a private event venue, Givens Farm LLC is not licensed to sell alcoholic beverages. Guest is permitted to serve, but not sell, alcohol on the premises. Guest must provide us with the name of your licensed server 10 days prior to your event or 30 days prior to your wedding date. No alcohol may be served during the reception unless a licensed and insured bartender is on site. All alcohol must be removed from the site within 24 hours following the event. Guest is responsible for any and all consequences of alcohol consumption. Givens Farm LLC, its owners, personnel and insurance carriers are exempt from any and all liabilities that may result from serving alcohol at your event.
15a. Guest must use a bartending service from the Givens Farm Event Professional Preferred Partner list or have an approved equal no later than 90 days prior to event.
16. A certificate of insurance may be required to provide proof of coverage for general liability.

We want to make sure your experience at Givens Farm is exceptional, therefore, we normally do not host more than one event on a particular day or weekend.
